If you are looking for a unique camping experience, look no further than Windsor, NC. Nestled on the Cashie River, treehouses are the perfect place to relax and enjoy nature. You can use this as a base to explore by bike or kayak/canoe. Or in our case the ideal place to use our packrafts!
Built by the famed Treehouse Guys from the DIY Network, the pair of treehouses are at the end of a long, raised walkway surrounded by Cypress trees. For your convenience, a cart is available to transport your gear. Each 200-square-foot house has 2 queen sized platforms for sleeping (one lofted), chairs and electricity. Next to the parking area is the boat ramp and bathhouse with showers.
This small town offers a variety of cycling choices from long road rides on rural scenic highways to off-road exploring in the nearby game lands. The downtown area offers the Cashie Wetlands Walk, bike-friendly streets to explore and a few restaurant choices.
We decided to visit Edenton (30 minute drive) and enjoyed walking along the waterfront and a fabulous dinner at The Table at Inner Banks Inn.
