Do you love road cycling but hate dealing with traffic? The Neuse River Greenway Trail offers scenic views of the Neuse River, winding boardwalk, scenic bridges, and absolutely no cars!
Multiple trailheads are available to access the 27.5 miles of smooth, paved greenways going from North Raleigh to Clayton. I recommend a road bike or hybrid with smooth tires for this outing. This trail is popular with runners, walkers with pets and kids, so use trail courtesy.
Minimal gear required for this day trip: a handlebar bag for snacks would work well along with water bottles and standard flat repair kit. There are bathrooms with drinking fountains halfway at Anderson Point.
