Opened in 2009, the Swamp Rabbit Trail has experienced continual growth and offers recreation opportunities for all levels of cyclists.
The 22 mile multi-use greenway runs from Traveler’s Rest to Greenville, South Carolina with very little elevation gain. There are many free public parking areas to access the trail so check out their interactive map for convenient locations.
The greenway is a paved road surface with some rough surface areas from roots or trail debris. Any type of bike is suitable for this trail: road bike, gravel bike, hybrid bike or pedal assist e-bike (20 mph maximum assist).
We parked in Traveler’s Rest and cycled to downtown Greenville to the Reedy Falls Park. This is a picturesque park with waterfall views, a curved suspension bridge and outdoor seating along the river.
Pack a picnic lunch or checkout one of the many cafes on the Reedy.
Greenville is very vibrant and you will fall in love with this outdoorsy, artsy and foodie town.
