When the pavement ends, the fun begins! The best part of a gravel bike is that it can be ridden almost anywhere. But where do I find gravel roads around here?
This is a fun route: Park at Governor’s Creek Trailhead and start with right on Underwood Road. In about 2 miles it will turn to gravel, stay right at intersection and continue until you reach Harrington Road take a left. Take right on South Carbonton and left on Haw Branch Road. Take left on Rascob Road for next fun gravel section. Take left on Glendon Carthage Road and right on Putnam Glendon Road. Take left on Hinson Road and left on Kelly Plantation Road. Take a right on Cool Springs Road and then left on Glendon Carthage Road. Take a right on South Carbonton Road, right on Harrington Road completes the loop. Take right on Underwood Road to get back to GC complete the 32 miles. This route has approximately 16 miles of gravel and 1690 feet of elevation.
